Part I: Of Ancestors and Dust
"Ah shit!" came a voice from the dark. An infamous voice. A voice that teachers have come to know and dread. A voice that would one day strike fear in the hearts of nearly every person in the magical world.
But for now, it only struck annoyance in the mind of a particularly intelligent rat which had the good sense to sulk off in the opposite direction from the source of the voice.
The year was 1976 and the magical world was growing increasingly troubled. But deep under Hogwarts Castle, one particular Gryffindor fifth-year couldn't give a rat's bottom... Well, he could, but he wouldn't.
"Lumos," hissed the voi
Wake up, my doll, dreading the day,
Think of every role you'll play,
Smiling, Dancing,
Laughing, Spinning,
Show them the girl who's always winning.
Up, little girl, out of your bed,
Chase your own dreams from your head,
No God, no love,
No home, no life
Perfection, to you, means only strife
Bow from breakfast
Food means weight
You've told your mom you already ate,
Put on your makeup; be perfect, my doll,
Be innocent, gorgeous, graceful and small.
Arrive at school, bright, smiley,
On your guard, friends are wily,
Laughing, joking,
Giggling, faking,
Hating the life you're slowly creating.
Attend your classes, Spanish, then
I am so over you…
And the funny part is… you never knew
I am so done with you…
And the worst part is… you could care less
I am through with you forever…
And all that matters now is… you don't give a damn
But then again… you never did…
I am so over you…
And the funny part is… you never knew
I am so done with you…
And the worst part is… you could care less
I am through with you forever…
And all that matters now is… you don't give a damn
But then again… you never did…
